Vons has many varieties of canned fruits and vegetables on sale for $.60-1.00. Good time to stock up on things you don't want to buy a ton of! :)
Around this time of year, my family is always asking for a christmas list. I always make sure to include a couple of items that would go towards my emergency storage. (ie: from a fireproof safe, to tubes of toothpaste) It's been the best deal yet. :)
I have been buying some canned goods at Costco, but be sure to check the dates. Some had already expired and others were less than 6 months away from expiration. They, also, have Red Star dry yeast in a 2lb package for about 3 or 4 dollars. Supposedly, if stored in a dry cool place it will last longer than the expiration date.
